Pebble Branding
We worked with the founder of Pebble to establish a complete brand system. The process included consultation on key brand decisions and developing both marketing and visual identity guidelines. This includes key deliverables such as the logo design, brand system development, and the necessary design collateral for opening the first restaurant.

Logo Design
Serving as the face of the brand, the logo design acts as the foundation of the brand identity. The design is based on the brand's core guiding statement of “Small, accumulated efforts create an evolution that can be cherished and loved timelessly—even with humble beginnings as small as a pebble, it can one day lead to the moon.” The logo includes an abstracted version of this, with a small dot as the pebble being led to the moon. It also utilizes a slight angle and custom italic typography to showcase a steady upward movement.

Brand System
As a new business, we worked closely with the founder to make key brand decisions to help develop a robust brand system. Developing this system began with concisely distilling the brand’s philosophies into a concise guiding statement. The next goal from here was to translate this philosophy into a visual system that effectively communicates the company's core ideologies. Brand systems act as a bridge to connect customers to the brand. The Pebble brand identity showcases a welcoming energy, refined style, and optimistic upward momentum.

Menu Design
For a restaurant, the menu design is arguably the most important deliverable. Clear, well-organized design with strong hierarchy are essential elements of menu design. Customers must be able to quickly and easily parse through many menu items to determine what they would like. While being clear and information-driven, the design must also be visually engaging. Further adding to this challenge, the menu needed to be designed as bilingual for both English-speaking and Japanese patrons. The typefaces and layout design had to be carefully considered to keep the design visually appealing, cohesive, and legible across both versions of the menu, connecting with all customers regardless of language barriers.
