I worked at TANAKA as the in-house marketing specialist at the TANAKA INTERNATIONAL INC. headquarters, overseeing the production of all marketing collateral for multiple corporate locations. I was responsible for brand management, ensuring a cohesive identity throughout all marketing channels by producing graphics, photography, videography, and more. As a member of a small corporate team, I had to be adaptable and prepared to wear many hats to fill the needs of this expanding business.

Graphic Design
A large portion of my work at TANAKA was spent working on Graphic Design. Every restaurant will have an array of design tasks, from menus and flyers to newsletters and everything in between. One of the key design tasks was to design menus. Menu design involves complex page layout, knowledge of menu formatting and writing conventions, and thorough proofing. These designs also needed to be easy to edit with a modular layout to accommodate frequent changes. Along with the menu design, other design tasks included website upkeep, newsletter design, signage design, apparel design, and much more. Whatever the restaurant needed, I was there to supply the content. All collateral had to be carefully designed within the brand standards to ensure a cohesive brand through all marketing channels.
Photography & Videography
For a restaurant, beautiful photography and videography are essential. As the marketing specialist, I was responsible for coordinating, producing, and editing all photo and video content. I worked with other members of the team to determine what photos were needed for menus, online point of sale/delivery, and marketing. Careful creative direction was necessary to ensure the images captured aligned with the brand identity and accurately represented the food. With an increasing demand for video in today's digital world, producing video content was an essential part of the brand marketing strategy. Just like photography, I was responsible for coordinating, producing, and editing all photo and video content.
Marketing & Social Media
While working as Marketing Specialist at TANAKA, I performed many general marketing tasks to increase visibility and awareness. I assisted with running social media and marketing campaigns, performing influencer outreach, creating marketing plans, assisting with openings, and more.
